How to view the auto-save history of an annotation (and revert to a previous version)

Modified on Sat, Jul 17, 2021 at 11:26 AM

Overview: An annotation can be lengthy, so we auto-save it as you type to ensure you do not lose work.

✔︎ NoodleTools School Subscription

✔︎ NoodleTools Individual License

✔︎ NoodleTools MLA Lite

 NoodleTools Express

Instructions

Step 1:

To view an earlier version of your annotation, click the Manage versions toggle in the lower-right corner of the "Annotation" text box.

Step 2:

A column of earlier versions (if any) appears to the right of the annotation.

Select the most recent edit to display in the text box. To revert to this version, click the Use this version button. You will be prompted to confirm you want to overwrite your current annotation with the selected version.

If you change your mind and prefer the most recent version, you can still return to the earlier edits and click on the most recent edit to display and replace an earlier version.

Note:

The "Annotation" field does not start auto-saving until you have saved the citation once (via the Save and Close button). If you plan to write a long annotation, we recommend you create the citation and save first, then edit that entry to add the annotation.
